arw2011:

This past week we celebrated Adrianna’s 6 month half birthday. On Tuesday, Daddy brought home 6 cupcakes, a balloon, and a present with a new towel and some books. We took Adrianna to the park down the street. She went on the teeter totter, swings, and the slide. She loved it! We came home and made some turkey burger cupcakes (even though she couldn’t eat them quite yet) and relaxed with her. She opened her present and had a lick of my frosting from my cupcake. She loved that:)

Next, Adrianna got to finger paint again! This time, she actually participated more and used her hands and feet instead of just her feet. She played around in the paint, painted some pictures for the family, and got really messy! By the end of the day Adrianna was so sleepy! She got a bath and got to play with her new bath book and use her new bath towel. She fell asleep while we were reading to her- she was that sleepy!

Saturday we went to the farmer’s market to get Adrianna and us some fresh fruits and veggies. It was so warm out and she always enjoys being outside! Adrianna tried some yellow squash and loved it. She also tried some pears and they are definitely her favorite so far! Tonight we made Adrianna some zucchini with yellow squash with some pear juice. I am not sure yet if she likes it or not. She did OK eating it the first time…but she definitely didn’t love it.

Sunday, Daddy and I went out to do a few things so the babysitter came over to watch Adrianna. Unfortunately, Adrianna rolled over and got Nursemaid’s elbow again. This time, Adrianna didn’t seem as uncomfortable, she just stopped using her left arm. We called the pediatrician and were able to go in the office and have our doctor pop it back in place. We talked to her and read up online more about this “Nursemaid’s elbow”. We read that it is pretty common actually, especially in girls. Some baby’s are just more susceptible to it happening…and unfortunately Adrianna must be one of those babies. Hopefully it doesn’t happen again so she doesn’t have to go through it again. It doesn’t put her in an extreme amount of pain, it just makes her uncomfortable and upset if you try moving the arm. She seems to be back to her old self now…so fingers crossed that it was the last time!

Adrianna will be going back to the doctor tomorrow for her 6 month check-up where she will be getting one shot and one oral vaccine. She has had these both before and didn’t have any reactions so it should go smoothly. We will get to see her weight and height so stay tuned next week to find out where she is on the charts!

Also, Adrianna will be making a trip with Mommy and Daddy up to Syracuse this weekend for Mother’s Day. It should be an event-filled time!

Adrianna has seen a lot of new faces this past week!

It has been pretty warm so Ade and I have been going on a lot of walks. She had to have two shots on Friday. Her PCV and HIB:( She didn’t have any reactions to either of them and so far the alternative shot schedule has been working great! She ate some barley last week and a few days ago we started her on carrots. She’s been starting to like the taste of “solid” foods more and more. Every time Erich or I eats she stares intently at us and starts munching on air. It is very amusing to watch. She will just act like she is eating with us. Silly girl! We will be doing some oatmeal, sweet potatoes, and peas in the next few weeks. Once we know she’s not allergic to any of those we will start mixing them and giving her some combo foods. We will do some fruits starting around her 6 month birthday. I know it’s important to do veggies so they get the taste of them, since their palette is already used to sweet foods (breast milk).

Adrianna has been doing really great. She is still at that 90% rolling over phase. She has that extra push from us and does good but hasn’t fully mastered it by herself. I think it may be because she still doesn’t enjoy being on her tummy. She will get it soon. She loves sitting up though and can sit up about 90% by herself. She leans forward and holds herself up by her legs and feet. She just has a slight topple from side to side. Before we know it, she will be sitting up and scooting her way along on the floor!

After our company left from last weekend (from Easter) my parents (her grandma and grandpa) and my Aunt Becky, all came down to visit on Saturday. Sunday they stopped by and we went down to the Richmond area to visit my Aunt Grace, Uncle Victor, cousin Christopher and his son Aidan. We had a blast and it was a really nice area down there. Adrianna got to meet so many new people (she was definitely scared at first). She had a good time and enjoyed the country part of Virginia. We will be headed back down there Friday for more fun and will also be seeing my parents again (for my birthday:D).

Erich and I will be going out Saturday for my birthday while grandma and grandpa watches Adrianna.

Enjoy the pictures:)

I will have to have 2 posts again this week because I have TOO many pictures for just 1! We had company this past weekend for Easter. My sister, her husband, and their two boys. We decided to go to the Washington D.C. Zoo on Saturday. We took the metro in, which took about an hour. It was Adrianna’s first time on the metro! She had a lot of fun and so did the boys.

The zoo was great. It wasn’t too big..which probably was a good thing. We had to make frequent stops for Adrianna and the boys but we got to see a lot of animals and everyone enjoyed it. There was a lot of walking but it was pretty worth it watching the kids see the animals. The only thing I was sad about was that the line for the Panda was too long so we didn’t get to see it. That was one of the reasons I wanted to go to the zoo…maybe next time. It’s one of only 3 zoo’s in the United States that haa a panda!

After the zoo, Steph and Jeff wanted to meet up with a buddy in D.C. so we went to Chinatown. We rode the metro and walked some of the streets. Boy is it a little crazy there! Not bad crazy..but crazy:) We went to a yummy local restaurant called RFD (Regional Food and Drink). They are known for their beer, I guess. There food was yummy though and Erich tried a blueberry beer! We then found a local cupcake shop called Red Velvet cupcakes that we HAD to go to (since I call Adrianna Cup-a-cake..duh!). It was so YUMMY! My favorite was the Ricotta, with lemon and poppyseed cupcake. Delicious! Please stop there if you are in D.C.

Sunday morning we looked for eggs that the Easter bunny left. We checked out our baskets and made some breakfast. We had a delicious roast chicken with asparagus, deviled eggs, rolls, and mashed potatoes for dinner. We had strawberry shortcake for dessert. We ate yummy food and hung out with the boys, which was a lot of fun! Adrianna got a cupcake bucket, some Yes To Carrots body stuff, stuffed animals, fingerpaints, clothes, a sunhat, a pink ball and lots more! Unfortunately our visitors had to leave to head back to PA..

Overall, a great weekend spent with family. Adrianna loved her first Easter and loved going to the zoo!

I know it has been a while since we have updated the blog so I will do two posts this time. We spent Christmas Eve doing our tradition which was watching Home Alone 1 and 2 and eating subs. We also exchanged Pj’s later that night. Christmas day we spent as a family just the three of us. We woke up and had a yummy breakfast and then opened presents. We took pictures of Adrianna opening up her gifts (which are on Facebook) and we Skyped with some family. Overall, it was a wonderful day and Adrianna had a very fun first Christmas. SOme of the gifts she got from us were some fuzzy white boots, a rattle, a pink tutu skirt, and some books. Two days after Christmas we drove up to Syracuse (which should take about 7 hours). If you have ever traveled with a newborn (2 month old) you will understand our agony. lol. Actually, she did pretty well overall. Not any screaming really. It was just really hard because she still eats pretty often. So our usual 7 hour trip took about 11 hours. We arrived in Syracuse and spent the next day with Mommy’s family. We went to lights on the lake and opened up some gifts for Adrianna. (which included some sunglasses, 2 awesome Old Navy hats, and a rubber ducky) The next day we went to Daddy’s cousin’s house and saw her little one (who is only a month older than Ade) and spent time with his mom, aunt, cousins, uncle, etc. In the picture is Ade on the right and Callie on the left. From there, we went to Daddy’s dads house (or Opa’s house). We got to see Opa, some cousins, and his aunt and uncle. The next day we packed up and went to Philly to spend NYE and NY with Aunt Steph. That drive wasn’t as bad and only took 5 hours. Adrianna stayed with us as we celebrated and rang in the new year and gave her a smooch:-* We had a great time playing Xbox and hanging out with friends. We left Monday and relaxed a little when we got home. So, that was our holiday! Hope you enjoy the pictures. I will be posting again tomorrow!

Adrianna shopping at the mall with Mommy and Daddy. We tried to see Santa but the line was too long so we are going to try again later in the week. She slept most of the time while we were doing some Christmas shopping. We bought a new dress for her to wear while in Syracuse for Christmas. She has been putting her head up and holding it there now pretty well. Upcoming photos with Santa hopefully or if we don’t get to see Santa we will at least post some of our professional Christmas photos later in the week.
